Removal -The chrome strips are
held in place by a spring and hook on each end inside the bumper. To
remove the strips I had to first remove the front bumper (see bumper
removal under Tips). With the bumper off it is easy to see the spring
and hook at each end which hold on the chrome strips. I used pliers to
pull off each spring and remove the metal hooks, then I pulled the
chrome strips out. For the rear I did not take the bumper off, there is
just enough room to get a pair of pliers to the spring. I was able to
get one side off but broke the tip of the other side off when I tried to
remove it, the chrome strips are rather fragile. Removing the front
bumper is the most time consuming part of the job. Some people have
added rubber strips to fill the gap, but it is only 1/4" deep and I
think it looks fine without anything there.
