The sport exhaust replaces the resonator
muffler with a straight pipe and the large rear muffler with one which is
freer flowing. The sport exhaust is pictured to the right and below is a
diagram of the stock exhaust system. The parts replaced by the sport
exhaust system are numbers 7 and 9. The result is a very pleasant and
exciting sound, it purrs at idle and rumbles during accelerations. The
gain in performance is very small, most claims are between 7-10
horsepower. While this is the most expensive upgrade in the Stage 1
category, it is a necessary step in improving your Saab. The 9-3 and
Viggen sport exhaust will also fit the NG900.
